First of all, I want to apologise for the lack of content. I promised to do the development of Crash Catch as a live stream on twitch, which is still the plan to do, except I haven't done anything for the last few weeks, maybe even longer.
Unfortunately my full time job has been incredibly hectic over the last few months with lots of late nights or just incredibily busy during the day, which has meant I've not had a lot of time to work on Crash Catch in the evenings. I'm hoping this will settle down a little bit in the not too distant future so streaming can become a bit more of a regular thing.
However, although I've not been streaming, I have been deen doing little bits here and there on the project, basically getting rid of all the niggly issues which likely wouldn't have been that interesting to do on stream anyway.
Most of the core requirements, all of the bugs - at least the ones that I am aware of, or all done and I'm ready to start implementing other project types. The plan is to add a couple of project types and then do an early preview release to hopefully get some feedback and then add other project types at a later date. The plan for the early release is to have the following project types supported:
The above 4 project types will hopefully be available on the first release to get some feedback, and then other project types will be added at a later date. The custom project type is to allow you to receive new crash and error reports for any project you are working on even when there's not currently an official library available at the time.
I've also been experimenting with implementing iOS support as I think this is fairly important to provide as well, and in doing so I have bought an iPad, not solely for this purpose but I am hoping it would prove useful (I plan to do another blog post about my experience with the iPad coming from Android devices).
Part of what I have been working on is also the Crash Catch Control Panel which was started on the live stream. This has added some functionality like being able to view the stripe events to help with debugging issues related to the stripe webhooks.
Also, I have been working on some other projects relating to Boardies IT Solutions. There is a plan eventually for the support portal and status pages to be integrated into existing services, such as you would be able to view status.crashcatch.com and you would see any issues with Crash Catch and only Crash Catch, this prevents users having to go to my main site and going to status.boardiesitsolutions.com and having to view everything I do which may have no relation to any issues with Crash Catch.
I've been doing some initial planning and plan to implement the status pages first into the Crash Catch site first as this is the easiest thing to implement. This isn't a huge priority though, the main priority is to add the other project types to Crash Catch and get an early release out. The support portal and status pages are more of a side project to my side project.
So this is where we are now, again I want to apologise for the lack of streams and I'm hoping that this will end soon and I can get back to a more regular streaming schedule.
Thanks for sticking with me, if you've not signed up yet, you can join the waiting list at crashcatch.com.
